About RoomFloat
A small tool for a narrow job: see your own room in a different style before you spend money on it.
What This Is
RoomFloat takes a photo of a room and returns that room in a different style, with the architecture pinned. It is built for the moment before a purchase: before the paint, before the sofa, before the stager, before the builder's quote. It is not a CAD tool, not a measurement tool and not a substitute for a designer on anything structural.
It exists because the alternative at that moment is a mood board of somebody else's house. A render of your own room answers a different question — not "do I like this style" but "does this style work here, with this light, and this floor".
How It Is Built
Render requests go to a hosted image model; uploads are normalised on our server before they are sent, and the model never sees your file name or account. Renders are stored as three sizes so a gallery page does not download a 4MB original. Payments are handled by Stripe, PayPal and Creem — we never see card details.
The site is server-rendered, has no third-party analytics script beyond a first-party event counter, and does not sell data. The privacy page lists exactly what is kept and for how long.
Two Limits We Will Not Pretend Away
First: it cannot measure. Proportions in a render are plausible, not accurate. If you are buying a sofa, measure the wall.
Second: it cannot move a wall. Structure lock keeps the room honest, and turning it off gives you a concept, not a plan. Anything load-bearing is a conversation with an architect.
Questions people ask before they upload
Who runs RoomFloat?
A small independent team. Product questions, invoices and refunds all go to support@roomfloat.com — one inbox, answered by the people who built it.
Do you train models on my photos?
No. Uploads are sent to the rendering provider for the duration of the request and are not used for training. Renders stay in your account until you delete them or twelve months pass.
Can I request a feature?
Yes — email support@roomfloat.com. Shared team credit pools and a product-link export are the two most requested additions.
